Well I went down to Hull Angels last week for a match and took on Gideon's Daemon army.
The force line ups (and deep strike results) were something like the following:
Daemons
-Wave 1- Which he chose to deploy and the gods agreed.
1xDaemon Prince arrived where wanted.
1xSoul Grinder with the large blast weapon upgrade. Scattered into terrain but did not disable it’s self.
1xBloodletter squads -10 strong, had an icon and a herald or Khorne. Arrived where wanted.
1x Plague Bearers squad 10 strong, scattered off the board and was destroyed.
1x Flamers squad, 3 strong, arrived where wanted.
-Wave 2- Sat in reserve and came where stated
1xDaemon Prince, arrived turn 4, where wanted.
1xPink horror squad, 10 strong with 1 changeling and an icon. Arrived turn 2, scattered slightly, but did not mishap.
1xFlamers squads, 3 strong. Arrived turn 3, where wanted.
1xBloodletter squads -10 strong. Arrived turn 2 but misshaped and went back in to reserve, arrived again turn 3 scattered and misshaped, I placed off out of the way(Next to my terminators that also got placed out of the way on turn 2).
Marines
1xChaplain with Jump pack
1xAssault squad, 10 man with power fist and flamer.
1xTactical squad, 10 man with Missile Launcher and Meltagun. Separated in to combat squads and using a Razorback.
1xTactical squad, 10 man with Heavy Bolter and Meltagun. Separated in to combat squads and using a Razorback.
1xDevestator squad, with 4 Heavy Bolters and 3 extra men for padding.
1xPredator with Autocannon and Heavy Bolters.
1xWhirwind
1x5 man Terminator squad. – Arrived turn 2, scattered and misshaped, got placed off out of the way to footslog it in (after killing the blood letters that misshaped and I placed next to them)
1x Dreadnought, standard load out.
All vehicles in the army had extra armour.
Was a Seize ground mission with pitch battle deployment, I lost the roll off and had to go first, meaning my turn one was charging towards the daemon objective and ensuring my placement was good for defence on mine.
Turn 2 was meant to see the end of the Soul Grinder which deep striked with in 6 inches of both my meltaguns. Both got Penetrating hits, both stunned the crew…which Soul Grinders Ignore…….
This was effectively the end of my assault on their base as the grinder smashed one tactical combat squad and then turned on the other who were running towards the objective trying to reach the top floor for safety. The razorbacks then took on a skirmish support role all game avoiding being killed and twinlinked HB’ing what ever they could see.
The assault squad and Chaplain went toe to toe with the first Prince, and some how lost…which we were both surprised about. But it tied him up for 4 turns and left him with only 1 wound remaining.
The whirlwind took FULL advantage of the deep striking units nice circles and took out 7 pink horrors and 6 blood letters in 2 shots. It then went on to take out 2 flamers. The second demon prince got mashed by heavy bolter fire from the Devs and died. And the pred picked off most of the surviving letters and flamers before loosing all its weapons and becoming a battering ram.
The letters did get in to a bit of combat, but were so weakened that they lost and all died.
All but the Changeling in the horror squad got smashed either by the whirlwind or dreadnought at range.
The game ended with them having no troops on their point to claim it, and I had some on mine meaning 1-0 win.
